Isles send first-round picks Dal Colle, Beauvillier back to juniors

The New York Islanders feel that promising prospects Michael Dal Colle and Anthony Beauvillier need a bit more seasoning.

The fifth overall selection of the 2014 draft, Dal Colle was returned by New York to Oshawa of the Ontario Hockey League on Tuesday. The 19-year-old left wing scored 42 goals and set up 51 others with the Memorial Cup-champion Generals last season and has collected 96 tallies and 140 assists in 186 career contests with the junior club.

Dal Colle might see a familiar face in his return to the OHL in the form of 19-year-old Joshua Ho-Sang, who was dismissed from the Islanders on the first day of training camp. Ho-Sang, who was the 28th overall pick of the 2014 draft, reportedly overslept on that fateful day and was returned to Niagara.

Selected 28th overall of the 2015 draft, Beauvillier was sent back to Shawinigan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Tuesday after the left wing recorded just one assist in three preseason contests with the Islanders. The 18-year-old Beauvillier serves as the captain of the Cataractes.
