Crosby's content to live a quiet life

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is as decorated as they come, winning on every level with a Stanley Cup, two Hart Trophies and two Olympic gold medals highlighting his impressive resume.

Despite raking in approximately $17 million last season in salary, endorsements and memorabilia, Crosby is comfortable driving a 6-year-old Chevy Tahoe and doesn't stray too far from home.

"I don't ever want to be seen as a guy who's forgotten where he's from," Crosby told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I have an appreciation for the people around here, and that's the best way I can show it, by making sure I stay grounded."

The 28-year-old Nova Scotia native still spends his summers in the Canadian maritime and took a week earlier this month teaching his first hockey camp for kids in his working-class hometown of Cole Harbour.

Crosby admittedly doesn't like change while his sister Taylor refers to him as an "old soul." A noted history buff, Crosby's fascination centers around fishing as opposed to flashy clothes or cars.

"What's cool about fishing is what works one day — you go to the same spots, same time, same conditions, and you get nothing." he told the newspaper. "The next day you go there, you have 10 bites. There's no explanation for it."

Such is the quiet life of Sidney Crosby.
