Binghamton wins Calder Cup in AHL

Ryan Keller scored a tiebreaking, power-play goal at 9:09 of the third period, Robin Lehner stopped 33 shots and the Binghamton Senators won their first American Hockey League championship with a 3-2 victory against the Houston Aeros in Game 6 of the Calder Cup on Tuesday night.

Lehner, 19-year old rookie who spent time with the NHL's Ottawa Senators during the regular season, was presented with the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy given to the AHL's postseason MVP.

Bobby Butler tied the game at 2 for Binghamton at 3:26 in the third with a power-play goal against Houston goalie Matt Hackett, who finished with 24 saves.

Roman Wick gave Binghamton a 1-0 lead with the only even-strength goal of the game at 2:28 of the second period.

Houston took the lead with power-play goals by Jon DiSalvatore and Jean-Michel Daoust in the second.
