Anaheim Ducks recall prospect Stefan Noesen for NHL debut

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) The Anaheim Ducks have recalled right wing Stefan Noesen from their AHL affiliate in Norfolk.

Noesen could make his NHL debut when the Pacific Division champion Ducks host Colorado on Friday night.

Noesen is a prime NHL prospect, but his career has been slowed by injuries.

He played in just two regular-season AHL games last season after tearing a ligament in his left knee, returning for the playoffs.

Noesen then injured his Achilles tendon last October, returning to hockey in February. He has 13 points in 23 games with Norfolk this season.

The native Texan was Ottawa's first-round pick in 2011. The Ducks acquired Noesen along with Jakob Silfverberg in a trade for Bobby Ryan in July 2013.

Ducks forward Patrick Maroon could be out Friday with an illness.
