Washington Redskins Injury Report: Jordan Reed, Su'a Cravens Out
The Washington Redskins will be without a couple of key players on Sunday. How will they replace them?
The Washington Redskins got some bad news today in regards to a couple of key players. Their stud tight end Jordan Reed and rookie linebacker Su’a Cravens will not be playing in Sunday’s game. Both are dealing with concussions.

This will be the team’s first game without Reed this season. For Cravens, it will be the second straight game he has missed.

Replacing Reed will be no easy task for the Redskins, but they do have the personnel to accomplish that feat. Vernon Davis will likely end up being the primary receiving tight end while Niles Paul will be a combo player at the position. The real problem is that they do not have depth behind those two. If either gets dinged up, expect the team to use reserve tackle Ty Nsekhe as an extra blocker. That would greatly help Kirk Cousins’ protection and it could give the team the edge they need to beat the Eagles secondary.
Being without Cravens will definitely be a loss for the Redskins as well. Cravens has been so good as the team’s third linebacker, and they do not have a capable replacement. Last week, special teams stud Terence Garvin saw some action at linebacker. He is not a liability, but he is certainly a downgrade from Cravens. Still, the team is taking the smart approach and not rushing Cravens back ahead of this game. The long term health of the rookie is the most important thing.
Josh Doctson will also be missing another game as he deals with an Achilles issue. This will be the third consecutive game missed by the talented rookie. At this point, it seems like Doctson could be out for a long stretch. It is good to see the team taking it slow with him. They cannot let their first round pick sustain a major injury.
