T.Y. Hilton makes spectacular diving catch (Video)

T.Y. Hilton caught a ball right before it hit the ground to keep the Indianapolis Colts’ drive alive. They scored a touchdown right after.
The difference between the Indianapolis Colts and the Detroit Lions isn’t great, but the Colts had to like their chances. That’s why, when the Lions got off to a 21-3 start, questions were asked. They needed a spark right before halftime, and T.Y. Hilton delivered.
The Colts were driving near the end of the first half, and looked to be in pole position to score. But in order to get to first and goal, Andrew Luck needed a big play. He had a slightly underthrown ball, but Hilton made the most of it to make a spectacular catch.
Here’s another angle on the play:
It looked like Hilton may have gotten hurt on the play, but he stayed in on the very next play. That was when Luck found Donte Moncrief for a touchdown to cut the deficit to 21-10.
Hilton has a penchant for making big plays. The only time he didn’t record 1,000 receiving yards was in his rookie season. It helps that he has a franchise quarterback throwing the ball to him.
Luck, meanwhile, wants to get rid of the memories of last season, when he only played seven games and the Colts missed the playoffs. While they’ve gotten off to a slow start, Hilton’s impact play should get him going again.
Andrew Luck has two great weapons in T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief, and is fresh off of a big $140 million contract extension. If he’s able to lead the Colts to a comeback, he’ll prove that he was worth every penny.
