If you like disgruntled locker rooms, look no farther than the one in Washington.

According to TMZ, four anonymous teammates are excited about the franchise’s decision to bench quarterback Robert Griffin III and start Kirk Cousins instead.

One player said the news was a relief, while a defensive starter said:

“The team is excited with the change. We are all looking forward to Kirk leading us this season.”

Another Washington player added:

“We have a better chance of winning with [Cousins] than Robert Griffin. Sometimes teams need a change and we obviously did.”

Lastly, a not-so-friendly teammate said:

“Now we can start winning games.”

It’s difficult not to feel bad for Griffin, who has constantly been pounded both in the media and on the field. His NFL career has slowly deteriorated since an ACL injury in 2012, and Cousins has officially overtaken the former No. 2 overall pick on the depth chart.

Perhaps RG3’s days in Washington are over, but he probably won’t find a different football home until after the 2016 season.

For some bizarre reason, the team exercised the fifth-year on his contract, despite Griffin’s decline and a $16.2 million base salary next season, per Spotrac. Not even Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly is crazy enough to take on that salary for a mediocre quarterback.

Although Washington might have a better chance to win with Cousins under center, that doesn’t mean the 2015 team will ultimately improve on its 4-12 record from last season. Sorry, anonymous teammate No. 4, Washington is destined for a high draft pick, no matter who is playing quarterback.
