Sole possession of first place in the AFC East was at stake in Orchard Park on Sunday.

While the New England Patriots (4-2) got a 37-22 win against the Buffalo Bills (3-3), it came at quite the cost.

It's believed that both linebacker Jerod Mayo and running back Stevan Ridley sustained season-ending knee injuries today, according to FOX Sports 1's NFL insider Mike Garafolo and other media reports.

Mayo, who missed a majority of last season with a torn pectoral muscle, was carted off the field in the second quarter and never returned.

Later in the game, Ridley was upended on a run and it appeared that his ankle bent in an unnatural way.
