Manning on cusp of 2 major NFL records

Published Nov. 15, 2015 3:23 p.m. ET

DENVER (AP) Peyton Manning is active for Denver's game against the Kansas City Chiefs despite sore ribs and a sore right foot.

That gives him a chance to break two NFL milestones held by Brett Favre, for most career passing yards and most wins by a starting quarterback in the regular season.

Manning entered the day with 71,836 yards through the air, 2 shy of Favre's record and tied with Favre with 186 victories.

At 186-78, Manning has the better winning percentage (.705 to .624). Favre lost 112 starts.

Also active is wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who tested his sprained left ankle before the game and was cutting well. Sanders missed practice all last week after getting hurt on his first target at Indianapolis.
