Jets getting reinforcements back after bye week

Published Oct. 12, 2015 9:34 a.m. ET

The New York Jets are coming out of their bye week with a 3-1 record and are second in the AFC East. It's hard to be disappointed with the Jets' season thus far, especially after losing Geno Smith to injury in training camp. In fact, it's rather easy to be excited about what's to come.

Entering their bye week, the Jets were dealing with several injuries to key players. Both Calvin Pryor and Leonard Williams were injured in London against the Miami Dolphins in Week 4, but those injuries don't appear to be serious. Pryor and Williams could return this week against the Washington Redskins after getting extra time to heal with the bye.

Additionally, linebacker David Harris, an important player on defense, is dealing with a quad injury that forced him to leave the game in Week 4. Todd Bowles doesn't seem to think the injury is serious, so he could be on the field in Week 6, as well.

Furthermore, it's not just guys returning from injury, though. The biggest addition is a player that wasn't injured at all. Sheldon Richardson will finally make his 2015 debut after serving his four-game suspension, giving Bowles another weapon on his already-dominant defense.

With Richardson, Williams, and Muhammad Wilkerson on the defensive line, the Jets will be a scary team to face for opposing defenses. Having too many talented players is a problem no coach will complain about, and that's what Bowles has now.
