Jaguars add running back Jonas Gray
With running back T.J. Yeldon's status for Week 15 uncertain, the Jacksonville Jaguars added depth at the position by signing Jonas Gray off the Miami Dolphins' practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.
Yeldon suffered a sprained left knee in Jacksonville's 51-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, leaving the Jaguars with just two healthy running backs on the roster in backups Denard Robinson and Joe Banyard.
Gray appeared in six games for Miami this season, rushing 31 times for 122 yards. The Dolphins released Gray Nov. 6 before bringing him back to the team's practice squad.
The 5-foot-10, 225-pound Gray spent last season with the New England Patriots, where he was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after running for 201 yards and a franchise-record four touchdowns in New England's Nov. 16, 2014 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
To make room for Gray, the team released wide receiver Rashad Lawrence.
