Broncos make Danny Trevathan fly economy to White House

Published Jun. 6, 2016 4:19 p.m. ET

Danny Trevathan joined his former Denver Broncos teammates at the White House on Monday, where the Super Bowl 50 champs were honored by President Barack Obama.

But for Trevathan, who signed with the Chicago Bears as a free agent this offseason, his travel accommodations weren't what he's become accustomed to when flying on the team's dime.

Of course the Broncos had to fly out the entire Super-Bowl winning squad, plus front office and PR personnel, so it's understandable that they would try to save a few bucks on a player who is no longer on their payroll. And it's not like Trevathan couldn't afford to pay for his own upgrade, considering he signed a $24.5 million deal with the Bears in March.

Trevathan didn't seem too upset about the ordeal, as he somehow "Beyonce-d" his way into first-class anyway.

Trevathan, who is heading into his fifth season as an NFL linebacker, documented the rest of his day leading up to the White House visit on social media, which included a cameo from Peyton Manning.

He also shared real-time footage of the big day on Snapchat.
