After no wide receiver through seven rounds, Saints add an intriguing UDFA

The New Orleans Saints were expected to address the wide receiver position at some point in the 2015 NFL draft. Surprisingly, out of their nine total draft picks, they chose not to use one of them on a wide receiver.

Instead, the Saints chose to snag an undrafted free agent soon after the draft came to a close, according to Gene Higginbotham of the Big Easy Believer. The choice? Former Texas A&M Aggie Malcome Kennedy.

Kennedy is an intriguing choice, and Higginbotham broke down his potential a bit more in-depth by looking at his Pro Day.

"For his Pro Day he ran a 4.56 40-yard dash, had 10 reps on bench press, 31.5 inch vertical, and a 119 inch broad jump. Another few words I saw in scouting reports are one’s that head coach Sean Payton has emphasized repeatedly they’re looking for, 'tough' and 'intelligent'."

Kennedy's success really began over his final two years with the Aggies, as he totaled 113 receptions for 1,269 yards and 13 touchdowns. With the Saints still looking for the right man to fill the No. 3 receiver role, keep an eye on Kennedy in an interesting positional battle heading towards 2015.
