About time: LeSean McCoy says he's done talking about the Eagles

After months of drama that culminated in an especially tense week leading up to a showdown with his former team, LeSean McCoy told reporters he is done talking about the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Buffalo Bills running back didn’t have a brilliant day on the field during his team’s 23-20 loss to the Eagles, rushing 20 times for 74 yards. But something he did before the game attracted a lot of attention: Kissing the midfield Eagles logo at Lincoln Financial Field.

Not surprisingly, McCoy was asked this week about his pregame show of affection. But he wasn’t interested in discussing it.

“We got the Redskins this week,” he said, via Pro Football Talk. “All that’s in the past.”

When pressed further about the aftermath of the long-awaited grudge match with his former team, McCoy wouldn’t bite.

“Listen, I’m worried about the Redskins,” McCoy said. “The game in Philadelphia’s over.”

Ever since McCoy was traded by Chip Kelly and company to the Buffalo Bills, last Sunday’s game undoubtedly had been circled on McCoy’s calendar.

And the protracted -- and at times ugly -- saga involving McCoy’s war of words, specifically his veiled accusation that Kelly is a racist by intimating the coach “got rid of “all the good black players” on the team -- hit a fever pitch in the buildup to Sunday’s game.

McCoy insisted last week he never called Kelly a racist. And Kelly also stated he wanted to apologize to McCoy for how the offseason trade that shipped the running back to Buffalo played out.

The drama further played out with reports that McCoy hung up on Kelly during a phone call last week, which the Eagles coach denied afterward.

And then there was the matter of how McCoy allegedly didn’t return to Buffalo with his teammates after the game, among other topics of interest amid the fallout from a wild week.

But none of those topics were addressed during McCoy’s recent media availability period. He instead said was focused on the Redskins. And as he put it, “All that’s in the past.”

Until next time he wants to talk about them.
