Pacers' Turner to miss time with a fractured thumb

Published Nov. 12, 2015 1:54 p.m. ET

Indiana Pacers rookie center Myles Turner fractured his left thumb in Wednesday's victory over the Boston Celtics, according to Candice Buckner of the Indianapolis Star:

Turner left the game after playing only one minute. As Buckner pointed out, there is no timetable for his recovery yet. The only positive is that the injury occurred on his non-shooting hand, which means he should return faster than normal.

This is an unfortunate break for the Pacers, as they've won five of their past six games, and Turner was beginning to show flashes of the 3-and-D center they drafted with the No. 11 pick in the 2015 draft.

Heading into Wednesday's game, Turner was averaging 7.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1 block in 17.9 minutes per game. His minutes will be dispersed among Ian Mahinmi, Jordan Hill and Lavoy Allen.
