Shane Larkin has already missed one game because of a concussion he suffered in practice. Now, it's about to become two.

The Nets have officially announced that Larkin will miss Friday's game against the Pacers. He sat out Wednesday evening's contest at home against the Heat earlier.

Larkin has had a strong season thus far, acting as the only Nets player who has been able to hit shots from long range this year. He is averaging 7.2 points and 3.6 assists per game on 47 percent field-goal and 47 percent three-point shooting.

In some ways, it's surprising there hasn't been a stronger the-Nets-need-to-start-Shane-Larkin movement in Brooklyn. Jarrett Jack has been about what anyone could've expected him to be—maybe better—but Larkin is the superior shooter, the more high-tempo player, the possibly better distributor and the younger talent with more upside. The Nets may actually have a nice thing going with Larkin. Hopefully, the concussion won't keep him out much longer.
