Myles Turner expected to miss at least four weeks with fractured thumb
Indiana Pacers rookie center Myles Turner will be out for at least four weeks after suffering a chip fracture in his left thumb, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Turner sustained the injury during the Pacers' 102-91 victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
"The kid just works so hard and was really growing every day... He'll definitely be missed while he's out," head coach Frank Vogel said at Thursday's practice, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Vogel also said that Jordan Hill will see more time at backup center behind Ian Mahinmi.
Heading into Wednesday's game, in which Turner got injured in his first minute of play, he was averaging 7.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1 block in 17.9 minutes per game.
In the team statement re: Myles Turner. "He is consulting with the #Pacers’ medical staff regarding the next steps in repair and recovery."
