Larry Brown has some high praise for Emmanuel Mudiay
Larry Brown was supposed to be Emmanuel Mudiay's coach at SMU. That never happened, of course, as Mudiay spurned a freshman year in college to make money and play professionally in Guangdong, China. Brown, however, harbors no ill will towards Mudiay – if anything, he's his biggest fan, and thinks the Denver Nuggets hit a home run when they drafted Mudiay. Here's what he told Paul Klee of the Colorado Springs Gazette:
"'I watch John Wall a lot,' Brown said. 'Emmanuel is maybe not as quite as explosive as John. It’s close. But at this stage in this career he’s more advanced as a point guard. And I think John Wall is now one of the elite guards in the league, and I think Emmanuel can be that.'"
Only time will tell if Mudiay ever develops into what Brown thinks he can be.
