NASCAR truck series crew member suspended

William Wheeler of the Norm Benning Racing team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has been suspended indefinitely for violating the sanctioning body's substance abuse policy.

NASCAR made the announcement Thursday.

The NASCAR news release says Wheeler violated rules for actions detrimental to stock car racing and the substance abuse policy. It did not say what substance was used.

Wheeler is a crew member for the No. 57 truck driven by Norm Benning.
