Kurt Busch merchandise begins disappearing after suspension

Published Feb. 21, 2015 4:30 p.m. ET

Kurt Busch's sudden fall from grace has hit the 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion on a number of fronts.

In addition to his NASCAR suspension for allegedly engaging in an act of domestic violence against former girlfriend Patricia Driscoll, Chevrolet severed its personal services contract with Busch and Busch's souvenir merchandise has disappeared from both the NASCAR.com Superstore and the infield souvenir store at Daytona International Speedway.

As of 2 p.m. ET Saturday, Busch's t-shirts, diecasts, hats and other merchandise were still for sale at www.stewarthaasracing.com.

Queried about the disappearance of Busch merchandise elsewhere, SHR spokesman Mike Arning said, "I honestly don't know what third parties are doing, like the NASCAR.com Superstore or Fanatics (group that runs at-track merchandise sales)."

A NASCAR spokesperson had no comment.
