Chicago White Sox outfielder Jason Coats had his big-league debut cut short Saturday after he was involved in a nasty collision in the seventh inning.
Coats collided with J.B. Shuck in left-center field as the two outfielders were in pursuit of a drive off the bat of Miguel Cabrera. Despite the collision, Coats held on to the ball.
Coats was able to get to his knees to throw the ball back to the infield but was visibly shaken. He was taken out of the game after being checked by team personnel.

It appears Coats will be fine despite the scare.
Coats finished 0 for 1 with a walk and a hit by pitch in the Tigers’ 7-4 win.
