Topps' amazing 2016 Mike Trout card perfectly captures his essence

On Feb. 3, Topps will release its first set of MLB trading cards for the 2016 season.

Fans were tasked recently with casting votes for their pick for No. 1 in the upcoming series, and the winner was ... Mike Trout.

The Los Angeles Angels star is no stranger to accolades, but this one resulted in a particularly memorable baseball capture, commemorating the outfielder's jaw-dropping home-run-killing catch against the Seattle Mariners' Jesus Montero on Sept. 26:

Trout said he was jazzed about earning the top spot among this year's cards:

“It's awesome. I appreciate the support from fans across MLB. It’s pretty special to be the No. 1 card for Topps."

All in a day's work for Trout, who has spent his offseason thus far giving special weather reports on television and spreading joy to neighbors who recently suffered a devastating house fire.
