Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco left Saturday’s game against the Tigers after being hit in the hand by a line drive.

Carrasco threw just two pitches before Ian Kinsler’s line shot struck his throwing hand. The Indians chose to remove him from the game after a brief delay. He was relieved by Jeff Manship.

The Indians lead the Tigers by six games in the AL Central. They are without injured righthander Danny Salazar for the rest of the season, leaving Carrasco and Corey Kluber as Cleveland’s two top pitchers. Losing Carrasco would be a major blow to the team’s playoff hopes.

Carrasco, 29, is 11–8 with a 3.32 ERA and 1.14 WHIP this season.
