Former Blue Jay Brett Lawrie refuses to speak to Toronto reporters
It seems that Oakland Athletics third baseman Brett Lawrie is still a little bitter that the Toronto Blue Jays traded him last season.
With the Jays in town (and all of their reporters), Lawrie told the A's that he did not want to speak to the Toronto beats before Tuesday's game:
To each their own, but it sure looks like there is some lingering animosity there.
Lawrie, from British Columbia, Canada was hyped up as being a cornerstone of the Jays franchise when he was first called up in 2011. He played a few tumultuous seasons in Toronto, both on and off the field, he was traded as part of a package to the A's in 2014 for Josh Donaldson.
While Lawrie is keeping silent on that side of the field, things are quite a bit different on the other side with Donaldson:
First trip to Oakland since trade and Brett Lawrie communicates thru A's PR dept not interested in talking to #bluejays writers
