Dodgers OF Joc Pederson leaves imprint in outfield wall after terrific catch

Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson has struggled at the plate thus far, batting just .226, including .175 with zero home runs in his last 15 games. Where he hasn't been a letdown, though, is in the outfield.

Pederson flashed his glove regularly as a rookie in 2015, and he's continued to do much of the same this season, as evidenced by this fearless play on Sunday. Mallex Smith of the Braves laced a fly ball to deep center, and with Pederson shading him to the opposite field, it looked like a sure double.

Only, Pederson ranged far to his left to make a spectacular running grab just before crashing into the wall. According to MLB's Statcast, he was running 16.7 mph when he hit the wall. It's no surprise he left an imprint in the padding.

This wasn't the only great play Pederson made in the game, either. He appeared to make a terrific sliding catch, only it was ruled that the ball hit the ground. The Dodgers, making a head's-up play, threw the ball to second to record the force out and a fielder's choice in what was a strange 8-4-3 putout.

The Dodgers went on to win 12-6 behind their high-powered offense.
