Dee Gordon and Miami Marlins agree to five-year, $50M deal
Second baseman Dee Gordon avoided salary arbitration and agreed with the Miami Marlins on a five-year, $50 million extension with a $14 million vesting option for a sixth season, FOX Sports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal reported on Wednesday night.

Gordon, a five-year veteran, led the NL with a career-best .333 batting average and led the majors with 58 stolen bases for the Marlins last season. It was the second year in a row that he led the majors in stolen bases — he swiped 64 in 2014.
Gordon, who played his first four seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, also recorded an MLB-best 205 hits in 2015. His .333 batting average was tops in the NL and second in the majors — Detroit's Miguel Cabrera hit .338. He also led all NL second basemen in fielding percentage.
The son of former major-league pitcher Tom Gordon, the speedster finished with 46 RBI, 24 doubles, eight triples and four homers last year as the Marlins placed third in the NL East with a 71-91 mark.
Gordon, who will turn 28 in April, made his second All-Star team — he made it in 2014, too — and won his first Gold Glove and first Silver Slugger Award last season.
Gordon was acquired a year ago in a seven-player trade with the Dodgers. He made $2.5 million last year and was under team control through 2018.
He joins Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich among Marlins regulars with long-term deals.
