While Arizona Diamondbacks fans grew anxious as they waited for the club to sign No. 1 overall pick Dansby Swanson at the deadline, Swanson reveals he was never nervous about not being signed.

Paying a visit to his new club, Swanson joined the Diamondbacks broadcasters during the third inning of the team's game against the Miami Marlins on Monday, and revealed his mindset while he was waiting to be signed.

"No, no, no," the shortstop from Vanderbilt replied when asked if he was nervous during the process. "I had good faith that everything would pan out the way it was supposed to. … It's a little bit stressful, but you just have the faith that it's going to work out."

Swanson then explained why the deal took a while to be inked.

"I know it went down the deadline, but just some last-minute things were getting negotiated and worked out," he said. "I was excited once everything went down."
