Cubs relievers explain how they tried not to jinx Jake Arrieta's no-hitter

If there's one group of players that doesn't have any impact on a pitcher throwing a no-hitter, it's the bullpen. Don't tell that to the Chicago Cubs, though. Their relievers did everything they could to help Jake Arrieta throw his second career no-no last week.

In fact, Adam Warren didn't move. Not once. He stayed in the same spot in the bullpen for the entirety of Arrieta's gem.

Clearly, Warren's superstitious act proved effective as Arrieta completed the no-hitter. But it wasn't just Warren that did his part. Neil Ramirez found his spot and never left it, leaning up against the bullpen fence the whole time.

Moving around in the 'pen is allowed, obviously. So long as you do the same thing repeatedly for the rest of the game.

In other words, don't be surprised if you see the entire bullpen sitting like statues next time Arrieta takes the mound. The guy can go the distance and blank an opponent on any given start.
