Cubs ace Jake Arrieta is going to have to get an unfortunate tattoo after losing bet
Chicago Cubs ace Jake Arrieta hasn't lost many times this season, but he's going to have a daily reminder of the bet he lost to teammate Tommy La Stella.
Arrieta, who is 11-2 this season, believed that his college -- TCU -- would beat La Stella's Coastal Carolina at the College World Series. Well, that didn't go Arrieta's way as the Chanticleers beat the Horned Frogs, meaning the reigning National League Cy Young winner will have to get a Coastal Carolina tattoo.
"So happy for those kids," La Stella said Sunday morning, via ESPN. "When we get back to Chicago we'll get him [Arrieta] tatted up for life."
Arrieta, who will get a CCU tattoo, didn't appear to be in a laughing mood Sunday, quickly removing a Coastal Carolina placard left in his locker. La Stella said that the tattoo session could be recorded for posterity, as long as it's in a G-rated area of Arrieta's body.
"If it's a body part that's visually acceptable, absolutely," La Stella said laughing.
