Cashman: 'I do wonder' if Teixeira will return in 2015

Just a day after it was announced that New York Yankees starter Nathan Eovaldi might miss the rest of the season, Brian Cashman brought more bad news.

When asked about Mark Teixeira's status, the Yankees general manager responded rather unenthusiastically:

Teixeira has missed a solid chunk of time after fouling a ball off his shin and has yet to recover.

As the tweet notes, Tex received two injections to calm nerve issues in his leg.

Should he miss the postseason, the Yankees will turn to rookie Greg Bird to fill Teixeira's spot in the lineup and at first base.
