When the news broke on Monday that the San Francisco Giants had reached a deal with starter Johnny Cueto, his future teammates were gauged for their reaction to the new addition, and shortstop Brandon Crawford's wasn't your average take.

While teammates Joe Panik and Matt Duffy discussed Cueto's unique arsenal of wind-ups, Crawford's reaction to the Dominican right-hander had little to do with baseball.

"With these two, we've also added a good amount of hair, which is never a bad thing," the flowing-hair Crawford said Monday, per the San Jose Mercury News.

Cueto dons a set of long dreadlocks, which is complemented by fellow new starting addition Jeff Samardzija's free-flowing mane.

Between those two, Crawford, and ace Madison Bumgarner, the Giants might have a hair product sponsorship in the works next year.

"Both guys are very competitive, pitch a lot of innings, and have had huge success in the National League," Crawford said of their on-field skills. "They're tough ABs. I’m glad they'll be on our side so I don't have to face them anymore."

Panik and Duffy joked that it would take some time to acclimate to Cueto's set of various wind-ups, which are used to throw off a hitter's timing, but could very well do the same for an unprepared infielder as well.

"You know, that shoulder shimmy," Panik said. "Everything he does is meant to throw off your timing as a hitter. He has a good changeup, good movement on his two-seamer, mixes speeds, good fastball. He's got that little cutter he throws in there. He goes right after you. He's so fun to watch. When he's on, it's a fun show."

Duffy was overjoyed at the moves San Francisco's front office made to bolster the team's rotation.

"To say I'm excited about the season is a huge understatement," Duffy said. "The cool thing about those guys is even when they don't have their best stuff, they still seem to find a way to keep you in a ballgame with competitiveness alone."
