The big right-hander signed a new deal with the Mets this week, and it was loaded with incentive clauses, most of which will never be reached. But they’re there anyway. Perhaps the best of them is the one that gives him a $50,000 bonus if he wins the Silver Slugger Award.

No, really. That exists.

Have you ever watched Bartolo Colon hit? Have you seen the man swing? It’s performance art in its own unique, twisted form. He has 10 hits in 120 at-bats over the past two seasons. If Colon wins a Silver Slugger Award, he deserves a heck of a lot more than $50,000.
