Yahoo Sports totally snubs Louisville football in mid-season playoff prediction
We take a look at what Yahoo Sports had to say about the Louisville football team in their mid-season, College Football Playoff predictions.
Yahoo Sports released their mid-season playoff predictions a day or so ago. One would figure that the Louisville football team will be talked about somewhere in the article, but I guess that I was wrong.
Actually, the Yahoo Sports Staff doesn’t feel that the Cardinals will be anywhere near the College Football Playoff by the end of the season. That is very strange since Louisville’s toughest opponent doesn’t come for another month and they currently sit at number seven in the nation.
After looking at it, it really wasn’t much of a prediction. It was just a lousy attempt of giving a prediction by looking at the current rankings.
Their four playoff teams are Alabama, Ohio State, Washington, and Clemson. I’m sure you could tell they put a ton of though into that, but what’s even worse is their two teams that just missed the playoffs.
Here are the two teams who they labeled as, “Just missing the Cut”.
No. 5 Michigan: Michigan fans won’t be happy to see the rival Buckeyes in the field and the Wolverines on the outside looking in, but for now that’s where it’s at in our eyes. Michigan is 6-0 just like OSU is, but hasn’t had a single road test yet. Five of Michigan’s six games have been at home. It’s lone road game was at… Rutgers. Yeah, Michigan still has a lot to prove.
No. 6 Texas A&M: We certainly didn’t expect the Aggies to be in this position halfway through the year. At 6-0, A&M can jump right into the Top 4 by beating top-ranked Alabama on the road next weekend. Even with a loss to the Tide, things could play out well for the Aggies that would keep them in the mix as the season progresses. Wins over Arkansas and Tennessee especially look good on a playoff resume.
Are you kidding me? Is that a joke? Anyone could have looked at the current AP poll and come up with those predictions. I don’t think Texas A&M will have “just missed the cut” at the end of the season. If it’s anyone, that would be the Louisville Cardinals.
Another week of people not believing in the Cards. Keep the faith Louisville football fans, your time is coming.
