With Steele gone, would LSU opt to go in-house for its new DC?

On Tuesday, LSU defensive coordinator Kevin Steele left the school -- opting to take the same position at Auburn.
It was a rapid decision -- considering LSU played Monday night in a bowl game. Auburn's persistence in targeting Steele ultimately proved to be too much for the Tigers' brass to deal with.
As such, where will LSU pivot to? Surely, Les Miles will do his due diligence in trying to hire the best candidate for the job. He might not have to look too far -- with Ed Orgeron already on his staff.
Source said #LSU was not getting into a bidding war for Steele and that Bama's state retirement played a role as well.

The current defensive line coach in Baton Rouge, Orgeron has considerable defensive experience on the collegiate level. Although he's never been a defensive coordinator, his philosophy is surely rooted on that side of the ball.
He is a Louisiana native, and understands the culture not only implemented by Miles, but also the one preexisting in the area. Orgeron is a fantastic recruiter, and knows the personnel on the roster. He'd be able to offer Miles continuity within the defensive group. Dually, there likely wouldn't be too much of a transition going from Steele to Orgeron.
Without question, Orgeron should be given a long look as a potential replacement.
