Williams scores 3 TDs; UTSA beats Middle Tennessee 45-25

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) Jarveon Williams ran for 108 yards and three touchdowns as Texas-San Antonio rolled to a 45-25 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday.

Jalen Rhodes had a 26-yard touchdown run, Williams scored twice inside the 6, and Dalton Sturm threw a 16-yard TD to Josh Stewart as UTSA (5-4, 4-2 Conference USA) led 28-10 at halftime.

John Urzua threw a 53-yard touchdown to Richie James to pull Middle Tennessee (6-3, 3-2) to 28-17, but Matt Guidry ran for 57 yards on the ensuing kickoff and Williams scored on a 22-yard run two plays later to stretch the Roadrunners lead to 35-17.

From there the game turned sloppy with four straight turnovers. Urzua threw an interception and was later sacked and fumbled. Strum was picked off twice before scoring from the 1-yard line late in the third quarter to make it 45-17.

Urzua finished with 161 yards passing with a touchdown and three interceptions.
