Week 7 college football picks: Ohio State-Wisconsin, Alabama-Tennessee, more

The College Football Playoff field is beginning to take shape. While the selection committee’s first set of rankings won’t be released until Nov. 1, some teams have distinguished themselves as prime contenders for a spot in the national semifinals. As conference play continues, that group inevitably will change, with some squads that have dominated their opponents so far dropping out and others improving after slow starts to join the conversation. This week doesn’t offer many matchups that figure to have a huge impact on the playoff race, but a number of contests should provide indications of whether certain teams with national title aspirations have a shot at making the final four.
