Watch Houston's Brandon Wilson Return Missed FG 109 Yards for Touchdown
Houston Cougars cornerback Brandon Wilson made the Oklahoma Sooners pay for a missed field goal by returning it 109 yards for a touchdown on Saturday.
The Houston Cougars came into Saturday hoping to pull off a major upset against the Oklahoma Sooners to start the season. Plays like this certainly helped.
In the third quarter of Saturday’s game, the Sooners lined up for a long 53-yard field goal. Oklahoma kicker Austin Seibert missed the kick, and the Sooners seemed to think the play was over. However, Cougars cornerback and return man Brandon Wilson had set up in the back of the end zone and was able to catch the missed attempt.
Once Wilson got the ball in the back of the end zone he took off and never looked back. The Sooners realized that Wilson had the ball once he started running, but by then they weren’t set up to cover the return and it was too late.
Wilson took off and went 109 yards to the house for a huge touchdown to put the Cougars up 26-17. You can check out the video of the return from Wilson below.

Wilson came into this season on the Paul Hornung Award watch list for the nation’s most versatile player. Plays like this should help him be a finalist, if not the winner of the award, by the end of the season.
