Vernon Adams Jr. almost ditched Oregon for the CFL
While Vernon Adams Jr. was sensational for Oregon during the 2015 season, he almost never made it to Eugene. In fact, he had his eyes set on the CFL.
By this point everyone is well aware of Adams' infamous August math test. Prior to the math test, Adams was so stressed out that he thought about ditching Oregon and heading to Canada.
"I was just so stressed," Adams said, per The Oregonian. "I didn't even want to come to Oregon. I was like, none of this is worth it. I don't even want to play.
"... I was almost ready to give up and go to the CFL and play in the CFL. My mom and my dad and family kept pushing, kept pushing me, kept saying, 'Stay with it, this is going to work out for you.'"
It worked out for Adams and the Ducks. The senior finished the 2015 season with the highest passer rating of any FBS quarterback (179.09). Now looking back on it, Adams believes the decision to go to Oregon was incredible
"Man," he said, "it was the best decision I've ever made."
