Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

USC vs Alabama kicks off the 2016 season in Arlington, Texas with a battle between two college football blue bloods.

It’s been thirty years since the Trojans and the Crimson Tide last took the field against each other and even longer since the two met in the regular season.

With Alabama coming off a national championship run, USC will hope that a victory over the Tide could spring them into the national conversation after years on the outside looking in.
