USC one of four penciled in for College Football Playoff?
And the hype continues to grow.
Phil Steele, one of the nation's most preeminent college football experts, has USC as one of four teams in the College Football Playoff. Steele has the Trojans as the No. 4 team, behind No. 3 Alabama, No. 2 TCU and No. 1 Ohio State. Steele projects the Buckeyes will beat the Horned Frogs for the national championship.
Jacob Pollack over at Conquest Chronicles doesn't think Steele's projections are far fetched when you consider the Trojans' path.
"The Trojans benefit from a favorable home schedule, facing conference foes Stanford, Utah, Arizona, and UCLA all at the Coliseum," Pollack writes. "Should the Trojans be able to handle the hype of a high preseason ranking and take care of business (they are already early Vegas favorites in all of those contests), a berth in not only the Pac-12 Title Game and the Playoff isn't far out of reach."
