Sony Michel staying for his senior year
Wanting Nick Chubb to stay for his senior year might be wishful thinking, but Michel could still come. If he stays for his senior year, that will be a huge boost for the Bulldogs offense. Instead of breaking in a new starting running back behind an all-new offensive line, Georgia will be able to start someone with over 2,000 career rushing yards.
Also, one thing Georgia lacked this year was a senior leader. That is not an issue you want going from one year to the next. Michel will be a great leader for the Bulldogs offense in 2017 should he choose to stay.

No de-commitments
Georgia has a rough season on the field going 7-5 and settling to watch their biggest conference rival play in the SEC Championship game. But on the recruiting trail, Georgia might be at the best they’ve ever been. Currently the group has Georgia at no. 3 nationally according to 247 Sports and no. 2 in the SEC.
Issues at offensive line is 2016, Kirby Smart has four big time offensive linemen committed to Georgia. The need for more standout receivers, Smart has three great receivers committed. Georgia has running backs, safety’s, linebackers, cornerbacks, defensive linemen and even a great quarterback committed.
But these high school seniors can still change their minds, and if they do, the 2017 recruiting class may go from riches to rags in a hurry. Georgia has pretty much sealed the deal with most commits such as safety Richard LeCounte III, RB Toneil Carter (Who recently canceled his official visit to Texas, his no. 2 team) and QB Jake Fromm.

Mel Tucker staying at Georgia
The Bulldogs defense wasn’t great in 2016, but they were good enough especially considering their youth. Barring something unexpected, Georgia will return nine starters on the defense. And only one back-up.
Georgia already rotates a lot of defensive linemen and linebackers throughout games, but both units are getting another surge of talent with the 2017 recruiting class. The defensive backs is probably the Bulldogs best unit of 2016, and through recruiting they’ll be able to reload in 2017.
Georgia’s 2017 defense has a ton of potential, the Bulldog Nation does not want a change in defensive coaching to dampen that potential.
