Sturm, Rhodes lift UTSA to 31-17 win over North Texas

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Dalton Sturm threw for two touchdowns and Jalen Rhodes ran for two more to lead UTSA to a 31-17 win over North Texas on Saturday night.
Sturm had touchdown passes of 7 yards to Kerry Thomas Jr. and 21 to Josh Stewart to give the Roadrunners (4-4, 3-2 Conference USA) a 14-0 halftime lead.
The Mean Green (4-4, 2-2) got on the board on the first snap of the second half when quarterback Mason Fine broke off an 80-yard run, but Rhodes' 9-yard run made it 24-7 after three quarters.
Rhodes added a 19-yard TD run in the fourth quarter that made it 31-10 before Fine connected with Kenny Buyers for a 10-yard score.
North Texas rushed for 152 yards after getting just 21 in the first half and had a 409-318 advantage in total offense, but the Mean Green had four turnovers. Fine passed for 257 yards and ran for 91 - after losing 19 on two sacks on the final possession - but had two interceptions and lost a fumble.
