Steve Sarkisian explains why USC won't wear alternate uniforms
First it was Oregon, and the rest of the nation followed not long after.
The hip thing in college football seams to be alternate uniforms. Just about every school is doing it, but don't expect a change in the heart of Los Angeles at least when it comes to USC.
If you remember, Sarkisian subtly took a shot at Oregon at Pac-12 Media Days, saying the Trojans are "not going to take the field this year in 13 different uniforms in 13 games this year."
At least one USC player has made it known that he "wouldn't mind a matte black uniform."
But it's not going to happen. Sarkisian went on the Dan Patrick Show and explained why.
"Every Saturday every school is wearing different uniform," Sark told Patrick. "Maybe you can look at an Alabama and Texas that just don't wear alternate uniforms. My point being was, everybody is trying to find a niche to make their school look attractive. That's not our niche. Our niche is our history and our tradition."
But never say never. Sarkisian said that "we've talked about it" but for "maybe one game a year."
