Sources: Ex-Nebraska coach Bo Pelini lands Youngstown State job

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 12:29 a.m. ET

Bo Pelini wasn't out of work for long.

Pelini will become the new head coach at Youngstown State, multiple sources told FOX Sports Tuesday morning. WYTV's Chad Krispinsky was the first to report the news of Pelini's hire at YSU. The school is expected to announce the Pelini hire later in the day Tuesday.

The 47-year-old ex-Nebraska coach is a Youngstown native and played high school ball at Cardinal Mooney before enrolling at Ohio State.

The fiery Pelini spent seven seasons at Nebraska, where he went 67-27 before being fired last month. He replaces Eric Wolford, who was fired at YSU after going 31-26 and failing to take the traditional power to the FCS playoffs in any of his five seasons.
