Fabian Truss and Stanley Robinson each scored two touchdowns as Samford beat Western Carolina for the eighth straight time Saturday 52-24.

It was the most points for Samford in four seasons as a member of the Southern Conference.

The Bulldogs (5-3, 3-3) had 303 yards rushing with Truss opening the scoring on a 61-yard run. He also scored on a 92-yard kickoff return. Robinson scored on runs of 20 and 21 yards.

Samford led 21-17 before scoring 24 unanswered points over the second and third quarters to put the game out of reach. A 6-yard touchdown pass from Dustin Taliaferro to Kevin Clay with 4:07 left in the third quarter extended the Bulldogs' lead to 45-17. Taliaferro, who passed for 124 yards, also caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Kelsey Pope.

Zac Brindise passed for 196 yards and two touchdowns for the Catamounts (1-7, 0-6), who lost their sixth straight.
