Rudock interested in getting to know new teammates

Jake Rudock got a headstart on getting to know the new offense he will run at Michigan this fall, but there is no substitute for human contact when it comes to what figures to be a larger challenge: Figuring out what makes his new teammates tick.

The senior quarterback told ESPN.com that process begins next week when he arrives in Ann Arbor following graduation from Iowa.

“I think the biggest thing is just trying to take that leadership role,” he said. “You have to understand it is a new place and not everybody is going to take it the same way. I think you have to feel it out with some things and be a little aggressive on other things. That’s hard to say without actually being there and being around the guys. That’ll come in time.”

As for learning the plays, Rudock told ESPN he got a playbook last month and has found "the concepts aren't drastically different" even if some of the reads and terminology are.
