Reshuffled Penn State OL performs better despite injury

One week after giving up 10 sacks in a loss to Temple, the much-maligned Penn State offensive line gave up none to Buffalo in a 27-14 win.
The Nittany Lions started the game with a different lineup as right tackle Andrew Nelson moved to left tackle, Brendan Mahon replaced him at right tackle and Derek Dowry took Mahon's former spot at left guard.
However, when Nelson went down with an injury in the first half, Paris Palmer was called upon to return to left tackle, where the JUCO transfer started week one.
"Paris Palmer got the week one jitters out and I think played pretty well," Penn State coach James Franklin told reporters in State College following the game. "I think we managed the O-line situation much better. Being able to run the ball and move the pocket and throw quick gains, allows those guys to have success. I thought the O-line stepped up when they needed to.
Franklin said he was not sure if Nelson would be able to return this week when the Nittany Lions play host to Rutgers.
