Reports: Iowa State's Jake Rhoads, Terry Ayeni arrested
Two Iowa State players were reportedly arrested in separate incidents late Saturday and early Sunday morning.
The arrests followed the university's annual spring game at Jack Trice Stadium earlier Saturday.
Wide receiver Jake Rhoads, 20, was arrested and charged with public intoxication, according to multiple reports. Rhoads, the son of head coach Paul Rhoads, caught three passes for 24 yards on Saturday and is entering his sophomore year.
Defensive lineman Terry Ayeni was reportedly arrested and charged with disorderly conduct early Sunday morning, a misdemeanor. Ayeni was arrested after police allegedly were called to break up a "scuffle" and saw him "punch a guy in the head," the Des Moines Register reported. Ayeni did not play last season after undergoing knee surgery.
"We are aware of the situations involving our student-athletes," Paul Rhoads said in a statement released by the athletic department Sunday morning, according to reports. "We are now in the process of gathering more facts and information."
