Report: Vols begin final summer session down suspended WR/incoming DT

Published Jul. 6, 2015 8:51 p.m. ET

The Tennessee Volunteers begin their second and final summer session this week and will apparently be without suspended senior receiver Von Pearson and incoming defensive tackle enrollee Quay Picou, according to Go Vols Xtra.

The absences of both players doesn't come as a surprise, as Pearson has been suspended since April when he was named as an alleged suspect in a rape case, while Picou has been dealing with academic issues that have delayed his enrollment into the university up to this point.

Neither player has been ruled out for the fall semester, but obviously both would have to be cleared before any action could be taken.

Picou, a three-star prospect from Georgia, is the only member of Tennessee's 2015 recruiting class that has yet to arrive in Knoxville as an official member of Team 119.
