Report: Two Syracuse players failed drug tests

On Wednesday Syracuse.com reported that Syracuse freshman defensive ends Qaadir Sheppard and Amir Ealey failed drug tests and could face suspensions that stretch into next season.
The two players were suspended indefinitely for what coach Scott Shafer called a violation of team rules following last Saturday’s 37-27 loss to Clemson.
Sheppard is a 6-3, 247-pounder who has tallied one tackle and one interception in nine games this season, while Ealey stands 6-3, 237 pounds and has contributed mostly on special teams in seven games.
The report states that both Sheppard and Ealey failed two drug tests and that a second violation means that the players would be barred from practice and competition, according to a copy of the policy obtained by Syracuse.com/The Post-Standard.
The policy states that players, "will be suspended from practice and competition for the number of events equaling a minimum of 50 percent of an academic year's competition regular schedule."
Syracuse (3-7, 1-5) will be back in action this Saturday when it plays at N.C. State (6-4, 2-4) at 12:30 p.m.
